Share as an app
A share link is a page outside the app — no account needed — that shows a published script or flow as a small app: its inputs, a Run button and the result. Teachers share exercises with a class, and anyone can show what they built without handing over the project.
- Create a link and choose what visitors see
- Know who pays for runs from a link, and how to limit them
- Ask the visitor’s name or e-mail, and keep a link to a list
- Find link runs in Runs, pause, renew or delete a link
What a share link is
A link always runs the published version, so your unfinished edits never reach visitors; publish again and the link serves the new version at the same address. The page shows the item’s name, the link’s description, its author and the inputs form. Variables, connections, the project and other people’s runs are never on it.
Create a link
- Publish the item
Open the script or flow and press Publish. Inputs that a public form cannot offer (a file from a connection) block sharing until they are removed.
- Press Share
In the editor’s top bar, Share lists the item’s links. Press New link; the defaults show only the inputs and the result.
- Copy and send
Save, then copy the address (
/s/…). Anyone who opens it can fill the inputs and press Run.
What the visitor sees
| Option | What it shows | Default |
|---|---|---|
| The code | The published source, read-only, with a copy button. | Off |
| The flow canvas | The flow drawn read-only; after a run, which steps ran and how each ended. Step code stays hidden unless “The code” is on. | Off |
| Each step’s input and output | A visitor opens a step of their own run to see its data. Values from secret variables always appear as •••. | Off |
| The result | The run’s output. Off: the page only says the run finished. | On |
The author
By default the page shows your name (and photo). You can hide it, or show another name — a course, a school, a company.
Know who ran it
Under Who can run, ask the visitor’s name and/or e-mail (off, optional or required). What they type appears on the run in Runs — “via link: Exercise 3 · Maria Souza” — and can be searched.
The optional allowlist (one entry per line, for example the class roster) only lets a run start when the typed e-mail — or the name, when the e-mail is not asked — is on it.
Limits and management
- Runs per day: after the limit, the page says to try again tomorrow (the day is counted in your time zone).
- Available until: after that date and time the page says the link expired; extend it to reopen.
- Pause stops runs and keeps the address; New address replaces it (the old one answers “not found” at once); Delete removes the link — its past runs stay in Runs.
- A visitor sees only the runs they started on their own device. Too many runs in a row from one visitor are slowed down.
- Active links per account: Free 3, Pro 20, Team 100, Business unlimited (paused and expired links do not count). On Free the page shows a small “Made with Waiso”.
A teacher’s walkthrough
- Write and publish the exercise
A script whose inputs are what students type — for example a number to convert.
- Create a link for the class
Name it after the class, turn on The code so students read it, ask the name (required), paste the roster e-mails as the allowlist and set Available until to the deadline.
- Follow the runs
In Runs, every run says which student started it; filter by the link’s name.
